"It is almost impossible to do great things to change the world but we can all do small things with great love."  - Mother Theresa

I believe that we may not be able to change the world but with love we can change a small piece of it and make a world of difference to the people who's lives we touch.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.  I believe that the people that cross my path have done so for a reason. The Hondurans that I have met over the past few years have awakened a passion in me to work hand in hand with them to improve the health and education of their country.

Working with the Honduran families has been very rewarding. They are so appreciative of our help and are always happy to see us. They have become real friends. The Hondurans I know may be poor, but they have a lot of dignity.

I have been involved with Summit in Honduras since 2005. I have continued to support the projects we're doing because they really have made a difference in Honduras and to the folks that live in Summit County. Our trip in October 2019 reminded me how much can still be accomplished with the help of Summit in Honduras!

Serving on medical missions over the last 6 years has been an incredible opportunity to get to know the country and the great people of Honduras.  I am delighted to serve on the board.  Together we can do great things to improve the health and opportunities for these hardworking people.Working with the Honduran families has been very rewarding. The privilege to serve with Summit in Honduras allows me to directly impact the lives of deserving people.  Summit in Honduras is so unique and special because we accomplish so much with so little.  Summit in Honduras follows through on so many projects with a small budget.  It is amazing to be a part of an organization that gets it done! As a contractor I really feel I can support the building projects in Honduras.

I serve on the Board of Summit in Honduras because it gives our community excellent opportunities to make such a huge difference in the lives of others (health, education, safety), and to receive in return profound spiritual blessings from the proud, joyful, hopeful, and hard-working Hondurans we meet.

Raising funds and then going and doing the work that needs to be done to educate and support these folks in their home countries is so important.  It is important that we help improve the conditions and, therefore, the opportunities to be successful in their own cities, towns and villages. To be able to reach out and help from our little mountain hideaway feels incredibly rewarding.

The convergence of my profession as a firefighter and a request to train EMS providers in rural Honduran villages brought us together in January, 2017 for an unforgettable expression of humanity. Since our initial trip, we have expanded our footprint to neighboring towns and villages, continuing to support our Honduran brothers and sisters in any way we can.

I am continually inspired and encouraged by Summit In Honduras.  From the work that gets completed, to the lives that are changed, to the people committed to making a difference in rural Honduras, this is an organization that strives to care for others by empowering, educating and providing for those in need.  I am grateful to be a part of it all!

Summit in Honduras is a grassroots foundation built on the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence. The very word humanity means that human suffering must be addressed wherever it is found. I am thankful to a part of an organization that is more than donation requests and fundraisers, I see the action and the lasting, sustainable results within the people we serve.
